Donations go to making a difference for our case
Between 2019 and 2021, multidimensional poverty in Lebanon nearly doubled, directly impacting 82% of the population. With severe inflation, the cost of a basic food basket has risen to exceed the official monthly minimum wage, while 53% of children have been forced to skip meals.
Our response to food shortages was to open, in February 2019, an elegant free supermarket, based on a points system that allows our members to feel they are “shopping,” not seeking charity. Giving people the freedom of choice is giving them dignity. Our shelves are replenished weekly with food and hygiene products, providing beneficiaries with the essentials they need for daily living.
To sustain our food aid program and provide families with healthy produce, we launched our agro-farming initiative that has become a model of soil-friendly practices, supplying families with nutritious food while reviving environmentally friendly ancestral methods, and promoting the responsible use of local natural resources.
